Alan:  My doctors  advised my wife that if I didn’t seek help very soon, I wouldn’t be around by 2009. But God had other plans for me....When I surrendered myself completely to the Lord,  miracles began happening in my life.

MILETTE: It was also then that I learned about his affair with a younger woman. My heart was torn to pieces, but I had to be strong for the sake of our children. Then It got even scarier when his liver  became cirrhotic....  After I accepted Jesus Christ, I felt the Lord  gradually healing me of strongholds....My marriage and family life has become a blessing

GREAT IS THY FAITHFULLNESS

My life was turning into a nightmare. I became paranoid. My paranoia reached the point where I was talking to myself and hearing voices inside my mind....I was so full of guilt and frustration. My friends and relatives didn�t want to have anything to do with me...Looking back, I now realize that what made me do the things I did was my distorted image of God and myself and my ignorance of what life was all about. I anchored my self worth on people�s perception and acceptance of me. But in God�s faithfulness, after He called me, He showed me my true identity and position in Christ thru the study of His word....

In His perfect way God can use things in our past for the advancement of His Kingdom. I began serving God as a volunteer at NextGen children’s ministry until I was invited to help at the Penuel House, CCF’s Christ-centered Recovery Home. Today I am a senior facilitator of Penuel Home, where God continues to use my life to encourage men with addictions on their journey to healing and restoration and to remind them that no matter how powerless we are over the mess we made of our lives, God’s grace is sufficient for us and that His power is made perfect in weakness.

I got hooked on gambling, pawning & selling my own things,  even coming to the point of stealing and entering into a sexual relationship in exchange for money. I literally emptied our house just so I could have money to gamble. I went as low as praying to the devil in exchange of my soul. I was a slave to sin!..I have made a lot of mistakes in the past which I cannot undo. But that old life is no longer me. The life that I live now is God’s gift, and I live it only through His grace.

My life is far from perfect. I continue to have problems. But God has taught me this valuable lesson: that problems and affliction are oftentimes the ground where I discover still something more of God�s wondrous beauty and perfect love. From there s
