Chemical addiction (or, addiction to drugs or alcohol) has become a major threat to the safety and well-being of our society. The problem is in our neighborhoods, in malls and recreation centers, in the work place, in our children’s schools, in their friends’ homes, maybe ( but God forbid!) even in our own homes. According to the latest survey done by the Dangerous Drugs Board of the Philippines in 2004, it was estimated that there were 6.7 million drug users in the country. This figure, which does not include alcohol abusers, will continue to grow if people like us do nothing to help.
Penuel House is our response to this growing and alarming need. A joint project of Precious Hope Foundation, Inc. and Christ’s Commission Foundation Ministries, Inc, (both non-stock, non-profit organizations duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission), it has a comprehensive Christ-centered Recovery Program that does not merely deal with the mental, emotional, physical, behavioral and vocational aspects of addiction. More importantly, our program addresses the addict’s spiritual need. For indeed addiction is the complex result of a person’s separation from God and the absence of a personal relationship with Him
Since we started operations on April 19, 2007 in a private house on 154B Lopez Rizal St., Mandaluyong City, 20 residents have joined our program. At present there are 14 more beds available.
Unfortunately, the rising cost of operations prevents us from making our prices accessible to more people. As of this writing there are more than a handful of men who are ready to submit to rehabilitation, given adequate financial assistance. In order to help the families of these men who desire to be set free from addiction but who do not have adequate funds to cover the full cost of rehabilitation, Penuel House is undertaking Operation Partnership. Through this undertaking we are inviting individuals and corporate entities to help our less fortunate brothers by partnering with us through any one or more of the following ways: prayer, financial assistance, contributions in kind (or service), or referrals to third parties who would be willing to help financially,
The total cost of rehabilitation for each individual is P150,000 (Php), or P25,000.00 (Php) per month for a total of six months. Your P6,000/month donation could cover a resident’s meals; your P2,500/month could pay for his lodging; or your P1,500/ month could cover utility expenses.
Penuel House urges one and all to join ranks in helping more addicts find true freedom. Through our God and with people helping one another, many a drug addict’s life will be turned around, his family restored and our society transformed. All for the glory of God!
If you would like to partner with us, please accomplish Operation Partnership Commitment Form and send the form back to us.
